About
Didi Chapman is a full-time potter-tutor working from her Quirky Pottery studio, throwing functional ware for restaurants and cafés alongside her own decorative pieces. Her real love is transferring drawing onto clay using the sgraffito technique — scratching fine linework of bees, clover, and seedheads through a layer of slip to reveal the clay body beneath. That work was recognised in 2020, when she placed runner-up (Open Master) in the QAC National Ceramic Award. Didi also teaches pottery classes from her studio and gallery in central Taupō.
